Epee Fencing Class

Coach Bill Winget

This 6-week class will teach the basics of epee fencing, building on what students have learned in our foil classes. The class will be using electrics epees, giving students the opportunity to experience what fencing is like in a actual competition.

Please contact Bill Winget at wingetbill@yahoo.com for more information and to register for the class.

Thursdays 6:30 - 7:30
All equipment will be provided by the club.
$60 per person.

After taking a couple classes and you decide that you wish to continue fencing.

Students will need to decide on which weapon to fence, foil or epee. Then will need to purchase equipment and become a member of the club. Equipment can be purchased on-line from many vendors including Blue Gauntlet. Cost of equipment will vary depending on the vendor but will run about $210.00. Buying both a "beginner set" and an "beginner electric set" is often the most cost effective route.

When purchasing equipment, you will need to specify left or right-handed; Male or Female. Front zip jackets should be bought for personal use. Back-Zip jackets are what clubs buy so they can be used by both left and right handers. Adults use size 5 blades. Children will need to ask the coach about which blade size is needed.

Fencing is a very affordable alternative to other sports and martial arts. After finishing the classes and purchasing the equipment, fencing club dues break down to less then $32.00 per month for adults and less then $17.00 per month for students.

Membership Dues:

Adults $375/year ($188.00 for 6 months)

Students $200/year ($100.00 for 6 months)

Club members can fence on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 – 9:30. Members are also welcome to join in on classes.
